The Western Railway under the Ministry of Railways has officially released the detailed notification for the engagement of Act Apprentices for the year 2025-26. The recruitment is being conducted by the Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway to fill 5,349 Apprentice training slots in various designated trades across divisions and workshops.

Age Limit (As on 23 March 2026)
- Minimum Age: 15 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years

RRC WR Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Passed Matriculation (10th Class) with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board
- Possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT
Note:
- Candidates awaiting results are not eligible
- Engineering Graduates / Diploma holders are not eligible under this scheme

RRC WR Apprentice Selection Process
Selection of candidates will be done purely on the basis of merit:
- Merit list will be prepared by taking the average of percentage marks obtained in Matriculation and ITI
- Equal weightage will be given to both qualifications
- No Written Examination
- No Interview
Tie-Breaking Rule:
- Older candidate will be given preference
- If Date of Birth is same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be preferred 2683
Training Period & Stipend
- Selected candidates will undergo Apprenticeship Training for 01 Year
- Stipend will be paid as per Railway Board rules
Medical Fitness
Shortlisted candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Gazetted Medical Officer from a Government Hospital at the time of Document Verification.
RRC WR Apprentice Mode of Application
Candidates are required to apply online only through the official RRC WR website. No hard copy of the application form is required to be sent to the Railway Recruitment Cell.
