Note on Anticipated Vacancies: The 8 anticipated vacancies for Clerk/Proof Reader (UR) will be filled only on availability on account of retirement or promotion. Candidates cannot claim appointment against anticipated vacancies as a matter of right.

Post-wise Eligibility Criteria

Stenographer (Group-C)

  • Graduation from a recognized university
  • 3 years experience as Steno-typist / Judgment Writer / Stenographer in any Govt. office or reputed organisation
  • Speed: 100 WPM in English Stenography
  • Typing speed: 50 WPM (English) on computer
  • Maximum 10% mistakes allowed in transcription and typing test

Clerk / Proof Reader (Group-C)

  • Graduation from a recognized university
  • Typing speed: 30 WPM in English on computer
  • Selection via Screening Test, Written Test, Typing Test and Document Verification
  • As per Schedule-IV (Part-K) r/w 28th Amendment of R&P Rules 2015

Driver (Group-C)

  • Matriculation from a recognized board
  • Valid Driving Licence for LMV or Medium/Heavy Vehicles
  • Minimum 3 years driving experience
  • Proficiency (Driving) Test and Document Verification after Screening Test
  • Preference for candidates with good mechanical knowledge of automobiles

Age of candidates will be reckoned as on 01 January 2026.

How to Apply Online for HP High Court Posts?

  • Visit the official recruitment portal: hphcrecruitment.in or the High Court website at highcourt.hp.gov.in
  • Register and fill in the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) before the last date of 28 March 2026
  • Upload scanned copies of Photo (20-50 KB, JPG/JPEG/PNG), Signature (10-20 KB, JPG/JPEG/PNG), Matric Certificate as age proof (100-500 KB, JPG/JPEG/PNG) and other certificates/documents (100 KB to 2 MB, PDF only)
  • Pay the application fee online (Rs.450 for UR | Rs.300 for SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
  • Submit the application and take a printout or screenshot of the submitted form for future reference

Important: Applications are accepted in online mode only. Applications received through any other mode will be rejected. Candidates already in Government or Semi-Government service must apply Through Proper Channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer within 15 days from the last date of application. Contractual/casual/adhoc/daily wagers/work charged employees do not need to produce an NOC.

Important Instructions

Candidates must go through the R&P Rules 2015 available at highcourt.hp.gov.in before applying. The experience and qualifications will be reckoned as on the date of submission of the online application. Eligible candidates will be informed only through SMS alerts and emails — no separate call letter or communication will be sent through any other mode. Candidates must ensure their registered mobile number and email ID remain active throughout the selection process.

Once submitted, the application cannot be withdrawn or modified. It can be cancelled but without any refund of fee. Re-checking or re-evaluation of answer sheets at any stage is not allowed. The High Court reserves the right to conduct the Screening/Proficiency Test at the District Headquarter, Shimla. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease due to administrative reasons.
