GATE Answer Key 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has released the provisional answer key and response sheet for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. Candidates who appeared in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) can now download the answer key from the official website – gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

The GATE 2026 examination was conducted on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026 for 30 subjects across India. With the release of the provisional answer key, candidates can now calculate their estimated scores and raise objections, if any, within the prescribed deadline.

GATE Answer Key 2026 – Objection Window

IIT Guwahati has also opened the answer key challenge facility. Candidates who find any discrepancy in the provisional key can raise objections through the official portal within the stipulated time.

Each challenge submitted will be reviewed by subject experts. If the objection is found valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly. The final answer key will be published after reviewing all objections.

The GATE 2026 result will be prepared strictly on the basis of the final answer key.

GATE 2026 Marking Scheme

The total marks for most GATE papers are 100. The structure is as follows:

General Aptitude: 15 Marks
Core Subject: 85 Marks

For papers such as GG, AR, and GE, the question paper is divided into two parts – a compulsory section and an optional section. General Aptitude carries 15 marks across all papers.
