Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Foreman (E&T), Assistant Foreman (Mechanical), and Assistant Foreman (Electrical).
The selected candidates will be deployed across Mines and Establishments of NCL in Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh and Sonbhadra District of Uttar Pradesh.
The last date for online registration and form submission is 5 March 2026, which will also be treated as the crucial date for determining eligibility and reservation benefits.

NCL Assistant Foreman Vacancy 2026
A total of 270 vacancies have been announced across different disciplines:
- Assistant Foreman (E&T)
- Assistant Foreman (Mechanical)
- Assistant Foreman (Electrical)
Vacancies are distributed across UR, EWS, SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD and Ex-Servicemen categories as per government norms.
NCL Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board
- Diploma in relevant engineering discipline (minimum 3-year course) from a recognized institute
Relevant disciplines include:
- Electronics Engineering (for E&T)
- Mechanical Engineering (for Mechanical)
- Electrical Engineering (for Electrical)
Higher relevant engineering degrees are also acceptable. Qualifications obtained through distance learning or part-time mode are not accepted.
NCL Assistant Foreman Salary & Training
Selected candidates will undergo training before regular appointment.
- Basic Pay during training: ₹47,330.25 per month (Grade-C)
- Additional benefits: DA, HRA, medical facilities, transport subsidy, attendance bonus and other allowances as per NCWA XI
Training Period:
- E&T: 1 year
- Mechanical: 2 years
- Electrical: 2 years
After successful training, candidates will be placed in the respective Assistant Foreman Grade-C posts.
NCL Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 5 March 2026)
Age relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD: up to 15 years (depending on category)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government rules
- Departmental candidates: No upper age limit

NCL Selection Process 2026
Selection will be based on a Computer Based Test (CBT).
Exam Pattern:
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Section A: Technical Knowledge – 70 questions
- Section B: General Knowledge, Reasoning, Aptitude – 30 questions
- Each question carries 1 mark
- No negative marking
- Question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi)
Document verification will be conducted after the declaration of CBT results for shortlisted candidates.
