APTEL 2026 Post-wise Eligibility Criteria
1. Deputy Registrar (1 Post): Level-12
Who Can Apply: Officers of Central/State Government, High Court, District Court, Autonomous Bodies, Tribunal, or Recognized Universities of Central or State Government, possessing a degree in law from a recognized University.
Service Experience (any one):
- Holding analogous post on regular basis; OR
- 5 years regular service in Level-11; OR
- 10 years combined regular service in Level-10 and Level-11; OR
- Holding post of Additional Registrar / Joint Registrar / Deputy Registrar in a High Court on regular basis; OR
- 5 years regular service as Judicial Officer in a High Court
Age Limit: Max 56 years as on closing date. Deputation period: 5 years (including any prior ex-cadre post).
2. Principal Private Secretary (1 Post); Level-11
Who Can Apply: Officers of Central/State Government, High Court, District Court, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, Tribunals, or Recognized Universities.
Service Experience (any one):
- Holding analogous post on regular basis; OR
- 5 years regular service in Level-9; OR
- 6 years regular service in Level-8
Additional Requirements:
- Speed in stenography: 120 wpm (English)
- Knowledge of computers

3. Court Master (1 Post): Level-7
Who Can Apply: Officers of Central/State Government, High Court, District Court, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, Tribunals, or Recognized Universities.

6. Librarian (1 Post): Level-6
Who Can Apply: Officers of Central/State Government, High Court, District Court, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, Tribunals, or Recognized Universities.
Service Experience (any one):
- Holding analogous post on regular basis; OR
- 6 years regular service in Level-5; OR
- 10 years regular service in Level-4

- 8 years regular service in Level-2
- Possessing qualifications prescribed for direct recruits

General Conditions
- Maximum age for all posts: 56 years as on the closing date of application (24 March 2026)
- Deputation period including any preceding ex-cadre post: 5 years maximum
- Pay and conditions regulated as per DoPT O.M. No.6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17 June 2010
- Officers in the direct line of promotion at APTEL are not eligible for deputation
- Deputationists are not eligible for appointment by promotion
- APTEL is eligible for General Pool accommodation – Central Govt. / All India Services officers joining will be eligible for allotment/retention of General Pool residential accommodation
- APTEL reserves the right to change vacancy position or any other condition
- Absorption is not a right – it is subject to eligibility, procedure, and availability of vacancy
