The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important clarification regarding students who appeared in two examinations within the same academic year (2025) due to the restoration of the academic session to October-November in Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and the UT of Ladakh.

This clarification has been issued with reference to Government Order No. 468-JK (Edu.) of 2024 dated 06-11-2024.

  • The annual examinations of Classes 10th, 11th and 12th were conducted in November-December 2025 instead of the usual February-March 2026.
  • This change was made after restoring the academic session to the October-November cycle.
  • Because of this transition:
    • Some students who had already passed Class 10th (SSE) and Class 11th (HSE-I) in the February-March 2025 session had to appear again in Class 11th or Class 12th in the October-November 2025 session.
    • As a result, certain candidates passed two annual examinations in the same calendar year (2025).

JKBOSE has clarified that:

  • This situation arose due to an academic transition and not due to any fault of students.
  • The examinations passed under this transition will be treated as fully valid for:
    • Admissions
    • Academic purposes
    • Professional or employment purposes

The board has also directed that a note will be printed on relevant diplomas or qualification certificates stating:

Annual Regular (Feb-Mar 2026) Kashmir Division / Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division held in October-November 2025 due to restoration of Academic Session back to October-November.

This clarification applies to students of:

  • Kashmir Division
  • Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division
  • Union Territory of Ladakh

who appeared in Annual / Regular examinations during 2025 under the Uniform Academic Calendar.
